
NTFS supports hardlink NT4/W2K/WXP/WXP64 of features, but physical can only be created through the command ln POSIX, which comes with Windows resourcekit. Even if with POSIX commands, physical can not be created via the command prompt, which is a kind of mess for many files.
The Link Shell Extension implements an extension of Windows Explorer, so physical, junctions and SymbolicLinks can comfortably be created by right-clicking on a selection of one or more files.
